In February of 2015, I was chosen to be the British Embassy in Tokyo’s official photographer for the visit to Japan of HRH The Duke of Cambridge. It was a huge honour and responsibility and a unique opportunity.
The shots in this gallery are a mixture of the work I filed on a daily basis whilst with the Duke on his four-day visit to Tokyo, Sendai and other parts of Tohoku. I was filing photos daily to the British Embassy’s press team, for their Flickr page and Twitter feeds. I was also contributing photos to the ‘pool’ of press photography for the event and accompanied the British royal photographers for segments of the four days.
The photos have not been re-edited but are in a gallery here in the form they were shot in at the time.
I’m in the business of re-designing this site and updating articles and will be updating this one with more of a story of my experiences on this assignment, as well as some more photos from the four days.
During the visit, I shot with Hasselblad H5D-50c, Nikon D800E, Nikon D3S.
